Over the past few weeks, Tina and myself have been helping the company in other ways whilst we wait for the lighting and sound ideas to be approved. In rehearsals we have been suggesting ideas for movement sections in our performance. We were learning ballet last week to help Megan out with her characterisation. We looked on YouTube for simple ballet moves. As I used to do ballet I was able to show Megan some basic positions. In our theatre company there are no dancers we made sure to keep the movements and positions easy and clear, as we want Megan to feel comfortable and confident. Chloe (our director) only wanted the movement to take up a small section of Megan’s monologue so the dance was quite easy to achieve. Additionally last week I have been looking into props and how we are going to source them. The company have fundraised a fair bit of money so with are able to get good quality props/ costumes. Also Tina and I were able to go into the LPAC props cardboard in order to see what we could borrow. We got quite lucky as most of the items we needed were down there; this leaving us to source three items ourselves. This means we are able to save our budget for marketing and costume. Also I have constructed a source sheet in which it is simple to see what we need to source whether we are borrowing, buying or make.
